Isaiah (part 2) - lesson 26

What a beautiful picture that is used in Isaiah 54, the barren womb that is now open. God uses this theme many times in scripture to show that He controls ever circumstance and He brings life and brings it abundantly.

If we understand the real life time line, this chapter was going to be read by the ones that were going to be taken into the Babylonian captivity and the message of hope wasn't going to take place until after the exile. They are the ones that were going to experience the wrath and discipline of God, yet He tells them to shout for joy, sing for joy. Still there is hope.

We see that God is the one who provides the healing and He also provides the forgiveness. We also see at the end of the chapter that God is in control of every detail. He and His mighty hand.
