Isaiah (part 2) - lesson 14

Back to the list for this part of Isaiah...here is the recap with some added to it.

1. The Lord is the maker, the creator of all things.
2. There is no other God.
3. God is sovereign over ALL.
4. You are not to quarrel with God.
5. God promises ultimate good.
   

Isaiah 45:7 The One forming light and creating darkness. Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these.

God is the one who is over all. He is the one who causes all things to happen. Both bad and good. And all are to point us to Him, and to causes us to rely on Him and glorify Him. Counting it all joy my brethren when we encounter various trials (James 1). Every time trials come our way, we have the opportunity to strengthen our mind in Christ Jesus. In everything give thanks.

It is a new way of thinking. A new way of living. Conforming to the image of God.

Isaiah 45:9

Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker.

Good reminder to take what God gives with grace and acceptance, TRUSTING that He knows what is best. Finding comfort in knowing who my Potter is.
